As a lifelong of Dragon Ball Z fan and now electric bike enthusiast, I set out to transform my Surron Light Bee X into a machine that embodies the spirit of Goku. Drawing inspiration from his signature orange and blue attire, I've curated a selection of components that not only enhance performance but also pay homage to the legendary Saiyan warrior.

🔧 Performance Upgrades.

Orange and black bike with chunky tires sits in a concrete room. A battery pack is on the floor, with another bike partially visible.

  • KO Moto Big Block Motor & Rush Controller: At the heart of this build is the KO Moto 62mm Big Block motor paired with the Rush Controller. This combination delivers exceptional torque and responsiveness, akin to Goku's explosive power.

  • ChiBattery Systems 72V 60Ah Battery: To sustain the increased power demands, I've integrated a 72V 60Ah battery from ChiBattery Systems. This upgrade ensures extended range and consistent performance during intense rides.

  • Warp9 Racing Jackshaft & Warp Drive:

Enhancing the drivetrain's durability, the Warp9 jackshaft is designed to handle the increased torque from the upgraded motor, ensuring smooth power delivery.

🛠️ Control & Handling Enhancements.

Orange and blue motorbike with knobby tires is parked in a concrete garage. The bike has "FOX" written on the front fork.

  • Warp9 Direct Handlebar Mount (Blue): This direct mount provides a more rigid connection between the handlebars and the fork, improving steering precision and feedback.

  • Kaniwaba Pedal Kit:

For added versatility, the Kaniwaba pedal kit allows for pedal-assist functionality, blending traditional cycling elements with electric power.

🛡️ Suspension & Braking.

Orange and blue electric dirt bike in a concrete garage next to two bicycles. The setting is dimly lit, with a gritty, utilitarian feel.

  • Fox 40 Forks Grip X2 (Orange): These high-performance forks offer exceptional damping and adjustability, handling rough terrains with ease.

  • Fox DHX2 Rear Suspension with Orange SLS Coilover Spring: Complementing the front suspension, the DHX2 rear shock with an orange SLS spring provides a balanced and responsive ride.

  • Prickly 220mm Brake Adaptors, Rear Rotor Guard, Stainless Steel Battery Protection Plate & Brake Levers: To accommodate larger rotors for improved stopping power, these adaptors are essential for the braking system upgrade. While the rotor guard is pending installation. I bought all this as raw CNC aluminum and stainless steel and painted it anodized blue to match the rest of the build.

🎨 Aesthetic Details.

  • Orange Extended Fenders (Front, Rear, Side): These fenders not only protect against debris but also reinforce the Goku-inspired color scheme.

  • NiceCNC Blue Chain Guards & Ignition Key Switch/USB Cover: Adding a touch of blue to the drivetrain, these guards on the motor and swingarm protect the sprocket and chain by preventing any small sticks or rocks from being pulled into the drivetrain, and enhance the bike's visual appeal.

  • KKE Speedometer Mount & Front Rotor Guard: The speedometer relocation mount ensures clear visibility of ride metrics. While the rotor guard is pending installation.

  • A Bashguard I Got From China: I also bought a super thick aluminum bashguard from China. This will protect my motor during gravelly rides and climbing mountains with big rocks and logs. I ground down the welds for a super clean finish, then painted it the same anodized blue that just enhances the Goku-inspired color theme.

🧩 3D Printed Parts

To further personalize and refine the build, I’ve incorporated custom 3D printed parts using orange ASA filament for strength, UV resistance, and color consistency with Goku’s theme. Current and planned parts include:

  • Battery Sliders / Positioning Supports

These hold the ChiBattery tight under acceleration and jumps.

  • 🧩 Planned Prints:

    • Battery Cover (custom-shaped to match fenders and fork).

    • Controller Lower Shroud.

    • Rear Mud Guard.

    • Tailpiece Mount / Seat Bottom Cover.

    • Left + Right Battery Shroud / Battery Covers Lock.

🧠 Final Thoughts.

This Goku-themed Surron Light Bee X is more than just a custom build; it's a tribute to the enduring legacy of Dragon Ball Z and the relentless pursuit of pushing beyond limits. Each component was chosen to reflect aspects of Goku's character—strength, agility, and resilience.

If you're considering a themed build or have questions about specific components, feel free to reach out. Let's power up and ride on!
